In this post I hope to show you (although some of my photos aren't great - sorry in advance) what our SNES cases look like and how they hold the cartridge.

Part I - The exterior

The exterior is a hard plastic with a sleeve to hold the art work.  The template used matches so that every case printed will match on a game shelf.  You might note that in the photograph, 'Earthbound' does not match.  This has been corrected.

Part II  Interior

I had a hard time photographing the white plastic.  The interior is made up of four angular brackets and two solid straight tabs on the top and bottom to hold the case.

This is the SNES cartridge in the game case.

  Part III - Wiggle Room

If you look really hard you'll see a small gap between the cartridge and the top tab. Once the case is shut and shelved this isn't an issue, but there is some wiggle.  To date we have NEVER had a complaint with wiggle from any of our customers. With PAL carts we have been told that there is more room inside the case,  hence more wiggle.  We don't have any PAL games on hand to test this, but here is the fix (and we offer to do this upon request at time of order). This is a good fix if you don't want ANY wiggle room or are using PAL cartridges.

Here I have a roll of 'weather stripping' or 'foam stripping' depending on where you purchase it.
Foam Strips applied to both top and bottom tabs.
Above I have what we call, "weather stripping" but it has other names depending on where you purchase it.  It comes in different sizes, I use the smallest I can get, I think it's a quarter inch.  It's fairly inexpensive.  The backing is adhesive, but not an annoying "you'll never get this off without massive gummy crap left behind" adhesive.  Cut about one inch strips and apply to the top and bottom tab.

The result of the tabs being stripped is a secure cart.  I attempted to take a photo actually holding the case upside down to show that it was SECURE.  No more wiggle.
Case inverted, no wiggle or falling out of case. You probably don't want to try this over concrete.  :-) lol.

We can send you a piece of weather stripping or strip it for you on request.  I know some people won't want their cases stripped so we don't do this for SNES automatically (although I do strip NES cases because I think they look nicer and secure better.)
